Created at the behest of the SUD-Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the Ministry of Culture of France, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra has been present in the Mediterranean cultural space since 1984, developing exchanges and cooperation with around 20 neighbouring Mediterranean countries. Since its inception, over 2,700 musicians have participated in its sessions. Retaining its missions and objectives, the Orchestra joined the Festival Aix-en-Provence in 2014.
